Kangaroo Creek Dam Safety Upgrade

The $78.5m safety upgrade to the existing concrete lined rock fill dam was undertaken by SA Water and Bardavcol in order to meet Australian National Committee on Large Dams (ANCOLD) requirements. The project required the extension of the outlet tunnel and pipework by approximately 50m.

Reimann delivered two one-metre diameter Mild Steel Cement Lined (MSCL) pipelines which were constructed inside the dam wall tunnel, methodology and custom trolleys, rollers and winches were made to achieve this. All platform and structural was included. In order to ensure there was no disruption to the River Torrens flow feed, one line was completed at a time.
